The
Ismael Pinto Association of Equine Therapy in Madrid is a non-profit association of doctors and other professionals. The Association
is dedicated to
the improvement of the physical, psychological, educational and social aspects of the patient
using Equine Therapy, a therapeutic method using horses as an agent of
change.
We offer a unique
type of therapy called Equine Therapy using three different
agents with the horse
acting as the main agent of change. Equine Therapy is
a holistic and is complementary to rehabilitation,
education and re-educating people with special needs Its objective is to
help improve the
patient's quality of life and acceptance in society.
Our vision is to help people with special needs, to improve their mental and
physical abilities, leading to immense neurological, mental, social and
physical benefits to the patient. Equine Therapy provides an environment
within which people with special needs and their families
can harmoniously integrate in a unique and recreational activity. The skills and talents of each individual
are treated at all levels resulting in an improvement in their overall
behaviour and confidence.
Equine
Therapy is not learning how to ride a horse, it is a proven therapy
designed to improve the physical, psychological, educational and social aspects of the patient.
Our Equine Therapy
sessions take place at the "Aldea Ecuestre" riding club, Vereda
de Santa Catalina s/n, Fuente el Saz de Jarama, Madrid.
The treatment sessions and activities are based on the "TANGO METHOD", a well-known method that is based on
multi-disciplinary activities that takes advantage of the physical size
and natural movements of the horse. The physical presence of the horse and it's
gentle movement when walking have a direct influence on neural
development and stimulation of all the senses.
